Millions of people just like you have found recovery from eating compulsively in OA. There are no scales or ridicule here, nobody will tell you how or what to eat. We offer Steps, Traditions, Tools and Fellowship. Whether you are overweight a little or a lot, binge and purge, starving yourself and/or abusing laxatives, diuretics or other drugs to control your eating disorder we hope that you will find, as so many of us have, a very real solution to your problem. What you WON'T find at OA meetings are weigh-ins, packaged meals, dues, fees, "shoulds," "musts" or judgment.   What you WILL find at meetings is: Acceptance of you - as you are now, as you were, as you will be. Understanding of the problems you now face - problems almost certainly shared by others in the group. Communication that comes as the natural result of our mutual understanding and acceptance. Recovery from your illness. Power to enter a new way of life through the acceptance and understanding of yourself, the practice of the Twelve-Step recovery program, the belief in a power greater than yourself, and the support and companionship of the group. We will be here for you, as we are here for one another. We Care!  Welcome to Overeaters Anonymous, Welcome Home!

Serenity prayer
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

The OA Promise
I put my hand in yours, and together we can do what we could never do alone. No longer is there a sense of hopelessness, no longer must we each depend upon our own unsteady willpower. We are all together now, reaching out our hands for power and strength greater than ours, and as we join hands, we find love and understanding beyond our wildest dreams.

The Third-Step Prayer
God, I offer myself to thee—to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy power, Thy love, and Thy way of life. May I do Thy will always!
